Shore-Based Beach Cleanups

Interested in helping to keep beaches clean? Volunteer for one of these beach cleanups in your area! These events are great to do with friends and family.


Miami-Dade County 

  • Baynanza: Biscayne Bay Cleanup Day – Annual event held in April. Event dates on website.

  • Crandon Park - Third Saturday of every month from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Biscayne Nature Center. Join the Weed Warriors and assist the Biscayne Nature Center control invasive plants, and contribute to the overall health and biodiversity of the park!

  • Crandon Park – Fourth Saturday of every month 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Shelter B – South Beach, Crandon Park. Join Miami Seaquarium’s Green Team and Crandon Park staff to beautify this coastal park to keep our ocean ecosystem healthy. For more information go to Miami-Dade County Park Link calendar.

  • Arch Creek Park - Second Saturday of every month from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Arch Creek Park Nature Center.

  • Biscayne National Park – Weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 or 3:00 p.m. beginning in December through the end of April. Email Bisc_Beach_Cleanup@NPS.gov to arrange a trip with the Biscayne Beach Cleanup Program to clear beaches of debris in preparation for sea turtle nesting season. Accepting groups of four to eight people (ages 16 and up).

  • There are many groups that host beach, mangrove and underwater cleanup events throughout the year. A few of these groups are listed below:


Broward County

  • Parrot Beach – Third Saturday of every month from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Parrot Lounge at 911 Sunrise Lane.

  • Fort Lauderdale Beach SweepSecond Saturday of every month from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at The LOOP, 300 S. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd.

  • There are many groups that host beach, mangrove and underwater cleanup events throughout the year. A few of these groups are listed below:


Palm Beach County

  • Jupiter Beach – Monthly cleanup with Friends of Jupiter Beach at Ocean Cay Park, that occurs one Saturday of each month. The cleanups are from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Visit Friends of Jupiter Beach website for more details.

  • Jupiter Beach – Monthly cleanup with Friends of Jupiter Beach at Ocean Cay Park, that occurs one Sunday of each month. This cleanup is targeted for high school students. The cleanups are from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Visit Friends of Jupiter Beach website for more details.

  • There are many groups that host beach, mangrove and underwater cleanup events throughout the year. A few of these groups are listed below:


Martin County

  • Annual Treasure Coast Waterway Cleanup -  Annual cleanup event taking place in Martin County, Port Saint Lucie, Fort Pierce and Indian River County. Event dates on website.

  • There are many groups that host beach, mangrove and underwater cleanup events throughout the year. A few of these groups are listed below:


Monroe County

  • Nautical Flea Market - Occurs every February in Founders Park, Islamorada. Dates will be updated on the website.   
  • Trashy Tuesday – Harry Harris Park Sunset Cleanup to protect wildlife. Time changes with the sunset but visit SEREIA Films for more information.

  • Florida Keys Cleanup Dives - Reef debris cleanups hosted monthly in Islamorada. Event dates on website.

  • i.CARE Trash Derby – Annual cleanup event held across the Florida Keys. Event dates on website.

  • There are many groups that host beach, mangrove and underwater cleanup events throughout the year. A few of these groups are listed below:

  • Conch Republic Marine Army (CRMA) – Weekly cleanups on Saturdays and Wednesdays from Marathon and Stock Island. For more information, please visit the CRMA website.
