The Acquisition and Restoration Council (ARC) received eight new project proposals for Florida Forever 2024 Cycle 2: Baker County Timberlands, Bowlegs Creek Watershed, Fair Bluff, Highlands Hammock Corridor, Lettuce Creek Cattle Company, Little Orange Creek Corridor, Rock Bend Ranch, and Waccasassa Flatwoods. On June 7, 2024, ARC voted to move all eight proposals on for more detailed review. Section 259.07, Florida Statutes, requires ARC to hold public meetings to take testimony on new Florida Forever proposals “in such areas of the state where the major portions of such land are situated.” ARC will take the required public testimony on these proposals as well as other existing Florida Forever projects at the following public hearings.
