Meta-transcriptomics to determine if and how viruses are involved in SCTLD infection status and/or disease susceptibility

This project used previously collected data to genomically identify signatures of viral infection and determine if they are associated exclusively with stony coral tissue loss disease (SCTLD) disease signs  and/or colony disease susceptibility. This project also characterized the Symbiodiniaceae communities associated with SCTLD-infected and apparently healthy Florida corals in order to determine whether there is an association between Symbiodiniaceae and viral genetic diversity, and SCTLD infection.
