Narrator: The Everglades is not the only natural treasure in South Florida.

The third longest coral reef in the world lies just offshore from our beaches.

These reefs are vast, beautiful, provide habitat for Florida's fisheries and also protect our shorelines.

However, they are also vulnerable and at risk due to pollution, over fishing and coastal construction.

The Southeast Florida Coral Reef Initiative is working to preserve our coral reefs. To learn more visit www.southeastfloridareefs.net.

Funding Acknowledgement: The Southeast Florida Coral Reef Initiative and the production of this video were funded in part by a Coral Reef Conservation Program grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Office of Ocean and Coastal Resource Management and by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection through its Coral Reef Conservation Program.
