Registration is open for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's (DEP) second rule development workshop for the Sea Level Impact Projection (SLIP) Studies for State-Financed Coastal Construction.  Workshop discussions will focus on draft rule language and standards for the Sea Level Impact Projection (SLIP) Studies for State-Financed Coastal Construction. Standards for the SLIP studies include sea level rise projections; methods of assessing increased storm risk and the chance of substantial flood damage over the design life of the structure; and ways to mitigate and adapt to those risks. The DEP project team also will demonstrate the web-based tool the department is developing to assist coastal communities in complying with section 161.551, F.S. Public comment is welcome and will be accepted during and after the workshop, and can also be submitted to Resilience@FloridaDEP.gov until March 2, 2021.
