The Florid Department of Environmental Protection and the Florida Rural Water Association invites you to take part in 2019 Flood Resiliency Training in Fort Myers on May 8.

Flood resilience is the ability to withstand effects of a flood, minimize damage, and recovery quickly. As you know Water and wastewater utilities are particularly susceptible to flooding which can result in loss of power, damage to critical assets, and disruption of services. The EPA has developed a tool, Flood Resilience: A Basic Guide for Water and Wastewater Utilities, to help utilities become more resilient to flooding. This workshop will cover the guide, mitigation, flood risks, help identify vulnerable utility assets, identify mitigation actions for utilities, and explore funding for these actions.
