The Florida Department of Environmental Protection's (DEP) Southeast District is offering a virtual training opportunity on Oct. 2, 2024, for Small Quantity Generators (SQG) of Hazardous Waste in south Florida.

This workshop is geared toward facilities generating 100-1,000 kg (approximately 3-5 drums) or more of hazardous waste per month. DEP will provide an overview of the department’s Small Quantity Generator requirements and information regarding the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s hazardous waste generator requirements. The department will also cover the proper management of hazardous waste in the event of an emergency. The workshop will conclude with a question-and-answer session.

Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, national origin, age, handicap, or marital status. Persons who require special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or persons who require translation services (free of charge) are asked to contact DEP’s Limited English Proficiency Coordinator at 850-245-2118 or LEP@FloridaDEP.gov at least forty-eight (48) hours before the meeting.
