DEP is proposing revisions to Rule 62-621.300, F.A.C., published on Feb. 8, 2022. These proposed revisions will adopt a generic National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit authorizing pollutant discharges associated with experimental technologies to control red tide [Karenina brevis] and blue-green [cyanobacteria] algal blooms in Florida's waterways. The proposed generic permit would be issued under sections 403.061 and 403.0885, F.S., and applicable F.A.C. rules.

The purpose of this public hearing is to present the proposed amendments to the public and provide an opportunity for affected persons to discuss the amendments. The hearing will not adjudicate rights and will not be adversarial in nature.

This hearing was originally scheduled to be held on Oct. 6, 2022.

DEP is hosting this virtually via GoToWebinar. Additional information on this rulemaking effort is posted on the webpage below.
