Library Information

The Herman Gunter Research Library, located in our main headquarters, is an integral part of the Survey's research initiatives and fully supports the library needs of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's regulatory programs. In support of the information needs of staff, students and researchers from the public sector, the library staff provides access to basic research materials including books, maps, state and federal documents, photographs and periodicals.

  • Online Publication Search - Search the web catalog of the FGS' Herman Gunter Research Library.
  • Search the FGS ResourceSpace - Visit the FGS ResourceSpace, an online repository of the survey's archived photographs. Most FGS items are stored on ResourceSpace as low-resolution copies; please contact the librarian to request higher-resolution versions.

As of October 2018, the FGS’s Herman Gunter Research Library has a new donations policy: no drop-offs of donations will be accepted without prior approval by the librarian. If you are interested in donating materials to the Library, please review our policy.

You may also donate books using DEP Form 55-405, (instructions for how to fill out form 55-405).
