To arrange a visit to our repository or to view one of our sample collections, please contact the Geologic Sample Collections curator or one of our geologists (a complete list of contacts can be found on the Contacts page). All requests to take samples require advance notice and approval. While we are able to provide work space and microscopes, visitors are encouraged to bring their own sampling materials such as camera, sample bags, markers, hand lenses, flashlights, brushes, hand picks, gloves, face masks for mold and dust, hand sanitizer, etc.

If you are sending samples to the FGS, please fill out and include a copy of our Well Sample Form. If you are conducting an investigation requiring the destructive sampling of FGS well cuttings, cores, core chips or outcrop samples, please see our Sample Collections Facility Sampling Policy for proposal guidelines.
