FUDS Program

The USACE and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection are working together as a team to protect human health and the environment at FUDS. This program establishes a framework for the efficient and effective cleanup of past Department of Defense disposals, discharges or releases of hazardous substances, petroleum products, and unexploded ordinance on or from FUDS. Environmental restoration shall be conducted in a manner that meets the requirements of the applicable statute and regulations, including CERCLA, the National Oil and Hazardous Substance Pollution Contingency Plan (NCP), and Florida law regulating the cleanup of sites contaminated with hazardous waste products.
