The Pasco County Fire Rescue Training Center is located at:

15910 Little Ranch Road
Spring Hill, FL 34610

This facility is utilized only for day use training exercises. It is served by a municipal water supply system that provides its drinking water. The facility does have one onsite potable well that has not been used for 20 years as a source of drinking water.

DEP conducted sampling of soil and groundwater on Feb. 21, 2019.  Based on the results of this sample event, onsite groundwater contamination by perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) was detected above the provisional Groundwater Cleanup Target Level.

DEP advised the Florida Department of Health (DOH) of these results and directed them to develop and implement a community sampling plan. DOH completed the sampling of eighteen potable wells around the Pasco County Fire Rescue Training Center on Aug. 14, 2019, and found no wells that exceeded the Health Advisory Level. DOH has since suspended activities.

During 2022, DEP assumed project management duties associated with continued per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) assessment at the facility.
